ACAP Responds to CMS’s Request for Information on Deregulation in Medicare

On June 9, ACAP submitted its comments to Dr. Mehmet Oz, Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), in response to the Request for Information on  Medicare deregulation.

The letter thanks CMS for all its work to improve the Medicare program for dually eligible beneficiaries and for advancing Medicare and Medicaid integration for these individuals.

ACAP, in part, recommends that CMS ease administrative burdens on Medicare Advantage plans by simplifying mid-year supplemental benefit notifications, publishing a complete inventory of current reporting requirements, and creating a national provider directory. The letter also urges CMS to separately analyze policy impacts on D-SNPs and integrated D-SNPs and to allow more flexibility in enrollment rules for HIDE SNPs to improve care continuity for dually eligible beneficiaries.
