ACAP Adds Four New Members to Board of Directors

ACAP ADDS FOUR NEW MEMBERS TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
WASHINGTON — The Association for Community Affiliated Plans (ACAP) announced the election of four health plan leaders to its Board of Directors on Wednesday. The special board election took place ahead of ACAP’s annual CEO Summit.
Marina Owen, CEO of CenCal Health (Calif.), was elected ACAP’s Quality and Operations Committee Chair.
Additionally, the Board added a trio of at-large members: Brendan Harris, president of UMPC for You (Pa.), Sarah Spiekermeier, interim CEO of Banner Health Plans (Ariz.), and Theresa Scepanski, CEO of Community First Health Plans (Texas).
“Each of our new Board members bring decades worth of experience in health care; we’re lucky to have them,” ACAP CEO Margaret A. Murray said. “I’m confident they will bring innovative and smart thinking to our Board’s conversations on the Association’s strategic priorities and goals.” As it stands, ACAP’s Board of Directors includes:
- Chair — Leanne Berge, CEO, Community Health Plan of Washington;
- Vice Chair — Mark Rakowski, President, Chorus Community Health Plans;
- Treasurer & Secretary — Sylvia Kelly, CEO, Community Health Network of Connecticut;
- Medicaid Policy Committee Chair — Doug Wirth, CEO, Amida Care;
- Medicare and MLTSS Committee Chair — Patrick Curran, CEO, Health Plan of San Mateo;
- Marketplace Policy Committee Chair — Peter Marino, President and CEO, Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island;
- Strategic Communications Committee Chair — Chad Westover, CEO, University of Utah Health Plans;
- Quality and Operations Committee Chair — Marina Owen, CEO, CenCal Health;
- Brendan Harris, President, UMPC for You;
- Theresa Scepanski, CEO, Community First Health Plans; and
- Sarah Spiekermeier, interim CEO, Banner Health Plans.
