STATEMENT OF ACAP CEO MARGARET A. MURRAY
ON MARKETPLACE OPEN ENROLLMENT

WASHINGTON—Margaret A. Murray, CEO of the Association for Community Affiliated Plans (ACAP), issued the following statement on the advent of open enrollment for Health Insurance Marketplaces:

“Today, qualified health plans across the country are opening their doors for the fifth year of enrollment through Health Insurance Marketplaces. Fifteen ACAP-member Safety Net Health Plans, which collectively served more than 700,000 members last year, stand ready to serve their Marketplace membership once again.

“Opportunities abound for Congress and the Administration to stabilize the individual health market; however, they have to date passed on many of them. Given the shorter timeframe for consumers in many states to select a plan, and the curtailed efforts to perform consumer outreach, our plans are doing everything they can to let their members know that it’s time to pick a plan.

“So we add our voice to theirs, and say: Our plans are open for business, and ready to provide top-notch coverage for people who need it.”
