As part of its commitment to serving vulnerable populations, ACAP recognizes people and organizations that strive to improve the health of Medicaid enrollees and others with low incomes.

The annual Making a Difference award is presented to an employee of an ACAP plan whose work goes beyond the norm and whose services exemplify the ACAP principles of Advocacy, Care, Access, and Public Good.

ACAP’s Leadership in Advocacy award recognizes an individual who clearly exceeds the norm in advocating for Medicaid and other safety net health programs, and on behalf of the vulnerable populations that these programs serve.

The annual Supporting the Safety Net award is presented to a community-based organization (CHC, hospital, community provider, etc.) or individual whose work goes beyond the norm and whose services are recognized as best practices that stand as a model for replication in the safety net environment.

ACAP’s Scholarship Essay Contest helps strengthen the public health care and social services workforce and highlights the benefits of Medicaid managed care. ACAP awards one $5,000 scholarship to an ACAP health plan enrollee or family member who seeks higher education and is interested in pursuing a career in health care or social services.
