Market Intelligence Analyst

This position is available fully remote in Washington state. 

Job Summary

Accountable for Annual Enrollment Forecasting, Monthly Enrollment and Market Share Monitoring and Report Production, and Competitive Intelligence across all Lines of Business.  Develops and maintains information and suite of reports that will allow  informed business decisions to drive enrollment growth. 

Translates information into executive level communication and story telling for multiple audiences at various levels of the organizations including the Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team.  Responsible for gathering competitive intelligence on competitors’ health plan products, sales approach, brand positioning, community relationships, etc., providing analysis, insights and actionable recommendations to make our product/plan offerings more competitive.

Essential Functions

Leads and develops monthly reporting on enrollment, growth and market share and internal enrollment forecasting and target setting to include but not limited to:
Executive Enrollment Reporting with Insights
Market share Reporting (Medicare, Medicaid, Individual and Family
Enterprise Enrollment Forecasting Models
Leads the collection of and analysis of market trends and major environmental developments, such as a Public Health Emergency, which may impact opportunities for enrollment growth across all Lines of Business. Integrates, frames, and facilitates strategic discussions and growth decisions through the synthesis of market trends, legislative trends, and competitor activity
Produces reports/recommendations on benefit/rate position adjustments required for ongoing market competitiveness
Monitors population/eligibility changes from public data sources, census, HRSA, HCA data,
Meets with Field and Internal sales teams, customer service and other member facing teams to compile information on competitive marketplace.
Monitors competitors’ websites for information on products, pricing and company capability, branding and positioning messaging,
Subscribes to independent industry research or reviews published research reports to obtain information on competitors’ market share, sales and strategies
Monitors social networks for information on customers’ attitudes towards competitors and their products
Exempt – Employees are expected to report to work as scheduled, participate in all assigned meetings, and meet established performance and accountability standards.

Qualifications
Education

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Information Systems, Business or an equivalent combination of education and highly relevant experience required.

Experience

Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in health care and/or insurance analysis and presentation to executive audiences.

Complete and successfully pass a criminal background check
Has not been sanctioned or excluded from participation in federal or state healthcare programs by a federal or state law enforcement, regulatory, or licensing agency

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong experience with Excel, Access, Tableau and other business analytic tools. Strong project management and initiative development skills.
Experience developing reporting and data presentations
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written including the ability to translate data into actionable information and story telling
Strong presentation skills.
Demonstrated data analysis and reporting skills, and familiarity with information technology solutions.
Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to identify systemic issues to promote real change.
Strong understanding of systems thinking and how processes are linked.
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and confidentiality.

Ability to travel, including overnight trips.

The position is FLSA Exempt (salary) and is not eligible for overtime. The position is also eligible for as an annual incentive based on company, department, and individual performance goals.
