Fall 2025 Health Policy and Quality Internship

The Association for Community Affiliated Plans (ACAP) is seeking two fall interns to provide support on projects related to Medicaid managed care, Medicare Advantage, and the health insurance Marketplaces along with Quality and Operational support. This position offers an excellent opportunity to be a part of a leading organization committed to increasing access to quality health services for people with lower incomes and/or significant health needs. The position requires excellent verbal, computer, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Successful candidates must be self-motivated and able to work independently. 

About ACAP 

ACAP is a national trade association representing 85 not-for-profit Safety Net Health Plans, serving more than 30 million individuals, including over one-third of Medicaid enrollees in Medicaid-focused health plans. Our mission is to support our member plans’ efforts to improve the health and well-being of people with low incomes and with significant health care needs.  

Job Description   

The interns will be responsible for supporting the policy and quality/operations teams on a variety of tasks, which may include short-term policy research projects, database entry, PowerPoint creation, and document editing. Depending on the interns’ background, there may be an opportunity to analyze quality and operational data on ACAP-member health plans. The internship may also entail communications and Web design support. The interns will learn important computer, administrative, and analytic skills as well as be exposed to a dynamic and growing health policy organization.  

Qualifications 

To be eligible for the internship, applicants must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and have an interest in health policy. The interns will work approximately 10-12.5 hours a week. The position will pay $17.95 per hour. The interns will be working in person at the ACAP office in Washington, D.C – some remote work is allowed. The internship would run from approximately September to December 2025.
