CareMessage is a Google-backed 501(c)3 nonprofit technology organization based in San Francisco. Our platform uses ‘smart’ text and voice messaging to enable clinical staff to provide automated yet personalized support to patients struggling with chronic conditions. The patent-pending technology is unique and leverages branching logic and other technologies to provide a uniquely tailored experience for patients based upon previous responses to questions, clinical metrics (e.g. HbA1C for diabetics) and social determinants of health (e.g. housing status). This creates a communication experience that is far richer and more engaging and effective than existing means of patient/member engagement.
Our platform focuses on the unique needs of at-risk patients/members suffering from a select group of highly prevalent diseases, including type 2 diabetes, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, depression, congestive heart failure (CHF), gestational risk factors and asthma (and associated behaviors such as nutrition, physical activity, stress management and smoking cessation). With expertise lent from some of the most experienced faculty at Stanford Medical School, as well as behavior design experts at the Stanford Persuasive Technology lab, we create a user experience that creates real behavior change tailored to the social and environmental circumstances of each patient.
CareMessage has entered several new markets nationally, bringing our total growth to over 175 customers in 33 states and nearly 500,000 Medicaid anduninsured lives.
