Director of Operational Initiatives

The primary objective of the position is to serve as a central point in organizing and facilitating Amida Care’s management of vendor performance and improvement on core health plan operations. Reporting to the Executive Vice President (EVP), the incumbent will be responsible for developing and overseeing a coordinated, collaborative and integrated vendor management process that engages and supports business leaders across the organization that are accountable for the performance of delegated/vended functions. This process, which will be an integral part of the Operating Steering Committee. In addition to the primary vendor role, the Director will develop and implement initiatives and projects that support Amida Care’s short- and long-term strategic plans and goals.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

The success of the position will depend on the incumbent’s ability to build strong, effective cross-functional relationships with internal departments and external partners to effectively get work done and produce lasting results. Bachelor’s Degree in health care administration, business management or related field or an equivalent combination of education and directly related work experience in managed care or health care. Minimum of ten years’ experience in health insurance/managed care or equivalent, including at least five years in leadership with direct accountability for plan or equivalent operations. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong organizational ties and productive working relationships at all levels and with all functional areas. Strong project management expertise including extensive experience with project initiatives and dashboards; PMP certification helpful. Expert level knowledge of NYS Medicaid program and regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and demonstrated ability to learn and work effectively with user-centric electronic systems and tools such as CRM and business intelligence software applications. Demonstrate understanding and sensitivity to multi-cultural values, beliefs, and attitudes of both internal and external contacts. Demonstrate appropriate behaviors in accordance with the organization’s vision, mission, and values.
