Director, Information Systems

Under minimal supervision, develops technology vision and provides leadership to the Denver Health Medical Plan. Develops, implements, and manages short and long-term Information Systems strategy that supports the business objectives and needs of the Medical Plan. Leads a team of Information Systems professionals to plan, implement, and maintain enterprise information systems using industry standard project management practices. Oversees information systems vendor procurements and manages internal and external system processes.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Intelligence, Informatics, Business, or related field. A combination of education and experience may be considered if the candidate’s Bachelor’s degree is in an unrelated field. Master’s Degree in Information Systems or Business related field preferred.

Experience: Typically, seven to ten years in Information Systems and/or a Healthcare related field or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience in Information Services and/or Health Information Management. Strong management skills with at least five years direct management experience. Experience must include technical understanding of various infrastructure and applications implementations and standards development. Must have at least five years management experience in IS vendor selection and oversight, preferably with a health insurance plan.
