ACAP Announces 2008 Safety Net Award Winner:
Association for Community Affiliated Plans (ACAP) announced Camden Coalition of Healthcare Providers of Camden, New Jersey as the recipient of ACAP’s third annual “Supporting the Safety Net” award. The work of the Camden Coalition of Healthcare Providers was highlighted at the ACAP CEO Summit held on July 15th and 16th in Washington, D.C.
The Camden Coalition of Healthcare Providers is a citywide organization of social workers, nurses, physicians, administrators and other individuals who serve the health needs of Camden, New Jersey residents. The Coalition has a mission to improve the quality, capacity and accessibility of the healthcare system for vulnerable populations in the City of Camden. These providers practice in a variety of settings, from small, neighborhood-based practices to hospital-based offices. They work to improve the health status of Camden residents and to make the health system more accessible for the underserved through community outreach, health provider education, practice management improvements, data collection and evaluation, as well as a strategy for coalition building and collaboration among key stakeholders.
