Orange County Health Collaboration Gets National Recognition: Wins ACAP “Supporting the Safety Net” Award
Health Funders Partnership of Orange County, an innovative collaborative serving the health care needs of thousands of low-income people in California, was presented with the fifth annual “Supporting the Safety Net” award by the Association for Community Affiliated Plans (ACAP) at its annual CEO Summit in Washington, DC.
The Partnership is a collaboration of 17 organizations working to enhance health philanthropy and health care delivery for uninsured and underinsured residents of the county by coordinating efforts and sharing resources. It manages initiatives ranging from addressing diabetes and the shortage of specialty care to providing greater access to care for children and adults.
The “Supporting the Safety Net” award recognizes a community-based organization or individual that has implemented exemplary, innovative programs to meet the health needs of high-risk populations and can serve as a model of “best practices” for other communities.
